Book Meme

Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag ten however many…

Here is my list, they are not ten but they amazing reads and they have stuck with me…

Jack Kerouac On the Road - The Original Scroll is an example of excellent writing. Yes, it’s missing paragraphs, but the style is sharp like a knife’s edge. Kerouac’s text has power to concentrate reader’s imagination and then send it flying into a thousand of directions at once. Read this in college and it will always stay with me.

The Harry Potter Series - No need to explain

The Lord of the Rings -  again no need to explain why

Jack Kerouac The Dharma Bums - Another masterpiece of the Beat Generation. Yes I do love Kerouac and this one is about his days as a Zen Buddhist. Don’t let the beatnik stereotype fool you this book is exuberant, thoughtful, even spiritual.

Tinay Fey Bossy Pants - I adore her and this memoir is not just funny its full of great advice.  Such a great read

and currently I am reading Alan Turing: The Enigma The Centenary Edition by Andrew Hodges and I have to say I am so thankful for this book because without it, the genious soul that is Alan Turing might just fade into obscurity. Yes I started reading it because of Benedict’s movie so I wanted to learn more about Turing and I am so happy I did.

Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

Benedict Cumberbatch joins 'Jungle Book' for Warner Bros

cumberbuddy:

Warner Bros.’ adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book has landed its first voice lead, and it’s elementary.

Benedict Cumberbatch will voice Shere Khan, the man-eating tiger who is the villain of the classic tale of a boy named Mowgli who is raised by jungle animals.

Andy Serkis,…
